    pee/urates
I was just wondering how often they go. I have had my girl for about 3 weeks now. When I first got her, the day after she had went no.2, but I haven't seen any urine or urates yet. I use paper towel bedding, spot check daily, and full out clean it once a week. Thanks :)

How often do they poo also:P

Ball Pythons have relatively slow metabolisms. Therefore, they usually will only defecate once per week at the most. Usually most of mine will go about every 14 days. The can produce urates a bit more frequently. However, I would only expect a mess every 7 days from a yearling or smaller animal, and usually about every 10-14 days fro an adult (assuming it is eating regularly).

I asked a similar question here recently and the answers were all pretty much along the lines of "They'll go when they need to go." Mine finally went after 3 1/2 weeks last night. Think about this... you have to match the size of the prey to the size of the snake because too small and they don't get enough to eat but too large and it becomes a race between digestion of the prey and rotting of the prey. If it digestion is that slow then it will certainly take a long time to work up a good BM. As long as your snake doesn't seem to be stressed then don't worry too much about it. All this from a total noob so keep reading for better answers. ;)
