So I am leaving a clients house today that lives around alot of open area in the hills. They have a very long driveway and I see a snake reeling around on the pavement and I cant drive by without running him over so I get out to see whats going on and I see him trying to eat an aligator lizard. My buddy Andreas, who was also working on this house, is a very experienced field herper so I call him over to check this out. When we look closer we realize the large aligator lizard was able to bite onto the snakes jaw/head preventing him from getting swallowed and they were wrestling around on the driveway for about 20 minutes. Eventually the lizard let go and took off and neither was hurt.

The snake was the largest striped racer I have ever seen, over 4 feet long. Here is a picture of my buddy Andreas (about 6 feet tall) holding him. Once again neither animal was hurt and we released the racer(after checking him out) and he was still looking for that lizard. Must have been real hungry!
