Re: My Rescue BP named MOO
You should ditch the Petco dial, and get a real thermometer - Accurite ones are usually 10-12 bucks at Walmart. All those dials are doing is measuring hte temps of the glass they're attached to. If you're running a UTH without any sort of regulation, chances are it's a lot hotter then what the dial is saying, and is potentially dangerous. You should probably pick up a rheostat too.
Re: My Rescue BP named MOO
I would ditch any hide made of paper or cardboard as it WILL mold.
He only needs to correct sized hides., You can use cheap plastic mixing bowls OR chip bowls, as long as it is big enough for him when he is nicely coiled.. Not too tight or too loose. ONE he is hiding in IS too small.
You can busy UP the tank by putting in foliage and some one mentioned scrunching up newspaper into balls so it nearly fills the tank. They apparently like that too a bit.
I personally use tubs as it is far easier to keep the humidity up, and sterilite is making some very very clear ones now.
COngrats and good luck!

Theyre temporary until I make the hides from clay that are posted in the DIY section. My 2 yr old is gonna help me with that, its going to be awesome. Quick fixes really. The one he's under is a bowl but its a three way hide, to the left is a long log which he goes to. He prefers to stretch out half his body in the log and the rest under the bowl, I guess he's just a weirdo today.

Those are not permanent hides. Cheap alternative to having to disinfect each time you clean. Just a heads up
