I have to second that! We saw it this morning... they produced a fantastic, character-driven story that put enough in there for fans to make it fun but with enough elements of a 'reboot' to work independently.

BTW, you should PM me for some further spoiler-laced discussion! :)

I would NEVER have seen Spock and Checkov as life partners though, that one threw me.

Other than that, thumbs up all the way.
