    About the subtrate
Hi! I'm keeping Red Blood Pythons, but now I'm wondering about the subtrates, now I'm using forest bark with a big water bowl and I'll moisture the substrate twice a day in order to increase humidity, or it's better to use newspaper with a big water bowl and a hiding box, which setting is better for Blood Pythons? Thanks!

I use a large water bowl and paper if that helps. But i know alot of other people that use your setup. :gj:

From my experience the problem with paper of any kind ( newspaper, paper towels, etc...) is they smell. I hate the smell of the wet paper after the snake goes to the bathroom of it.

I've tried all kinds of substrate for my Bloods, and I keep coming back to Kraft Paper. These guys just thrive on it! I don't use any hides for my animals though, they just hide under the paper.

I get it in precut sheets from www.packagingsupplies.com

We have used cypress mulch (triple milled) and newspaper and kraft. Right now we're using newspaper, water bowl and hide for all the animals.

Personally, I use newspaper for both my Borneo and BP simply because it is so easy to clean, meaning I will end up cleaning it more often. But if you need bark or mulch for humidity, that works well too.

im on paper towels but have used cypress and shredded news paper. i like them all but i prefer the papers to reduce ingestion of anything.

oh and i have hides in there but they don't use them so im taking them out this week. i have water bowls that have bowls under them that are glued to the bottom of the tub so they can't tip them.

I like aspen mixed with a bit of moss for my blood. I like cypress to if it were more readily available around here.

Well that's why you're supposed to change the paper after every poop/urate right? If you're letting your paper get funky and sit around until it stinks you should start cleaning more often...

Unless you meant that the paper smells bad immediately after they go on it? But I think it smells bad no matter what substrate you use...
