PIJAC and USARK, 2 different pages?
I have been thinking for awhile now about how PIJAC and USARK seem to be on two different pages when it comes to fighting the different legislations floating around congress that would inevitably have a negative impact on the reptile community among others. Have others seen this as well? Am I the only one that thinks this is going to hurt us in the long run as these bills get more and more support? Alot of my frustration, and my confirmation on this seperation between PIJAC and USARK came from this thread on Fauna.

And here is Brian Barczyks response here:

I am not saying this is a seperation that is supported by the higher ups in these organizations or just a serperation caused by the members of these organizations, but I for one am a member or both, but think that these two need to work together and be on the same page for the most part for us to have a hope as these bills get more and more backing in congress.
Re: PIJAC and USARK, 2 different pages?
I don't see any seperation in the organizations. If you read through the thread on fauna, you'll see most people are totally bewildered by the accusations.
All the stuff I've seen from both have praised ALL the efforts put out by all of the herp hobby, including the other sites.
Re: PIJAC and USARK, 2 different pages?
i can see what you are saying.....it seems to me that PIJAC is more willing to compromise than USARK. just my thoughts on the issue. PIJAC does care about pets, but reptiles are only a small percentage vs. mainstream pets (dogs, cats, fish, gerbils, etc.)
both groups have different stakeholders (reptile people vs. "pet" people) to work with regarding this issue. different agendas for both groups. i, as a reptile person am a member of USARK but not of PIJAC, fwiw.

Im a member of both, and I trust Adam whole-heartedly and he has been working close with PIJAC, and they seem to be doing alot of good work for the reptile community, along with other pets ofcourse. USARK does do great work with the reptiles as well, so I think if they two worked closer on some issues I think we could pretty much be unstoppable.
