    bleeding from her "lady parts"
I have an adult female ball python, she is healthy and has never had any health problems. About a week ago, she mated with a pastel male with no problems. I looked at her today and noticed a small amount of blood coming from her lady parts. is this usual? has anyone else had this problem? should i be concerned? thanks.

as far as i know bleeding can occur during breeding . should go away with out harm. if it continues daily then vet will be in order.

    Hi,

Has she just shed or pooped?

Breeding a full week before seems unlikely to be the cause of bleeding today I think.

Is it just a spot or two of blood?

she hasnt shed for two weeks and has not pooped either, I also think that breeding is unlikely the problem. The blood is minimal (there are not actually drops) and she doesnt appear to have anything else wrong with her. thank you

if i remember right, males can drag their hemipenes on the substrate after breeding and can leave "blood trails." I think it's easiest seen on paper substrate.
