hedgehogs..

My girlfriend wants a hedgehog for her birthday and I was wondering where could I get one from that's reasonably priced???
do you think they would ship it to me like a snake?
or would I have to find a local pet store?

Your best bet is to find a local breeder or pet store, mammals don't ship well. I don't know of anyone who ships mammals, sorry to say.

I don't know that they will ship a hedgehog although I could be wrong. My girlfriend just picked one up about a month ago at an animal expo. I've generally seen them priced at about 100 dollars at shows and up to 200 at pet stores.

I've seen hedgehogs as low as $75 with cages and acc included. Craigslists usually has a few people looking to sell them (adopt if you prefer). The pets category is located under "community" not "all for sale"

be careful getting one off craigs. people are always trying to sell old animals and assure you that they are young. Around where i live that happens a lot with ferrets people will sell a ferret thats 5+ years and has some type of not really noticeable condition as a 1 or 2 year old ferret with perfect health.
