    Problem
For some reason my boa has very dry skin. I went away for a week and had a friend of mine watching him. He said that the boa soaked in water for 3 of those days. I feared that he might have mites so the first thing i did was look him over to see if i could find any. I didnt see any at all.

Now he has very dry to the touch skin. I am misting him down every 20-30 mins hoping that it will rehydrate him. I also fed him a pretty big meal today and he ate it with no problems at all.

    My tank set up is.

    Glass tank-40gal breeder
    Zoo med UTH
Digital thermo/hydro with 75%humidity(he is getting ready to shed)
    Ambient Temp is 85 degrees
    Hot side is 90 degrees
    cool side is 80 degrees

can anyone give me any idea what is going on? I mean he is active, alert, and eats every week with no problems. He is about 4-5 feet long, not sure of his weight, but he is very thick doesnt look un-healthy at all. I know he is in shed, but he has never shown dry skin like this..

I wouldnt worry. Keep an eye on him and check him thoroughly after his shed. He could have wanted to hydrate, loosen his shed up or cool off.
