    Unsexed Corn Not Eating?
    Hi,

I have an unsexed corn snake, always referred to as a She, of 2-3 years old.

She hasn't had a meal for about a month, and is not interested at all. However, she is moving around her cage all day every day, and goes to her hide at night. I did change substrate from Eco-Earth to Repti-Bark, but she was already moving around so much (and stopped eating) on the Eco-Earth.

My thoughts are that she is a male which is in his first sexually mature year looking for a female.

    What are your thoughts?

    Thanks,

Though its unusual for a corn to go off feed compared to other snakes, a month is still nothing to worry about. Both my adult males and females will from time to time. As long as she is active and not losing weight youre good.

    Hi,

If you get a good photo of the underside of the tail from the vent area down towards the tail it's very probable people could tell you the sex of it from the shape. :)

While possible, IMO its very hard to do with much accuracy. From even my own collection, probably half are "exceptions" to that rule.

But I would guess that it might be a male. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If it ends up being closer to three months or something, then you might get worried, but until then, don't sweat it.
