Re: Snake measuring program?
Hi,
What was the eror message? Can you grab us a screenshot of it?
Also the usual - what operating system are you using ( xp, vista, mac osx, linux or whatever ) ?
Did you download it using a download manager or anything?
Have you tried grabbing it from an alternative source? If so does that one work ok?
The answers should help us narrow down the problem.

Re: Snake measuring program?
I'm using Windows XP Premium, and didn't use a download manager. Also, I can't upload the screen shot at the moment, but will later. Maybe it would be easier to send the picture to a member with a working version of the program?
Re: Snake measuring program?
A lot of people have issues with that program it seems. When I tried it I found that if you angled the camera even a tiny bit, it put the measurements way off. I only used it a short time and found that I would have to take the average to three pictures to get an even close read on a snake's length. To be quite honest I just went back to the old school method. One string, run it down the snake from nose to tail tip, measure the string...there you go! :)
Re: Snake measuring program?
I figured that would be the case, just got curious as to how accurate it was. Old school method seems to be the way to go. :)
Re: Snake measuring program?
Another method that I've used to measure our big boa Tequila is to put a mark on the baseboard. Since most snakes will slither along the wall like that, as soon as her nose hits that mark I put a light pencil mark on the baseboard where her tail is. Easiest way I can figure so far to measure an almost 9 foot snake (saves on the string too LOL). :)
Re: Snake measuring program?
One thing to add on to what Joanna (frankykeno) said, is if you use a piece of board or other straight object, and have the snake go between that and the wall, it can help you be sure they are stretched out fully, rather than being kind of wavy.
