Well THAT was anticlimactic!
I just got my first ball python bite, and for some reason I'm disappointed. I ran to get the camera while whipping off my rubber glove and squeezing my thumb to make it bleed more for bragging rights pics but I couldn't even get these pinpricks to bleed. :(
Who but a snake person would be upset that they couldn't post some gory bite pics.
Re: Well THAT was anticlimactic!
he/she probably was just giving you a warning bite. What you should have done is scare/piss him off more after he nipped you if you want to get a good bite!
not really though.
Re: Well THAT was anticlimactic!
I felt the same way with my first bite. I thought it would hurt more... It did bleed a little for around five minutes. I actually almost got bit last night by one of my ball pythons, but it just grazed my hand.
Re: Well THAT was anticlimactic!
Welcome to the bite club :gj::D
Re: Well THAT was anticlimactic!
I still haven't gotten a bad bite from a snake. All of my bites have been from nonvenomous ones in the wild (except the one bite from my first corn snake, the first day I got it, when it was shorter than a pencil and skinny as heck), mostly garters and the like.
Re: Well THAT was anticlimactic!
LOL, I have a king snake, when he goes into shed he is all hissy and strikey. Its just hilarious, never has left a mark on me.
I have been bitten by a few water snakes though, they are mean as the Devil :taz: still doesn't hurt, just bleeds a little.
Re: Well THAT was anticlimactic!
LOL!!!!
Yes, it is really not that big of a deal...
Now a BURM? Maybe a bit more of an issue.
Re: Well THAT was anticlimactic!
The worst I've seen here from a bp bite was one that left a small tooth in the bite. Now that got itchy a bit. Wasn't me though, it was my hubby. Everything loves to bite Mike so I use him as a temperment tester. :D
Re: Well THAT was anticlimactic!
I know one day I will join the club, and so very glad to hear it's anticlimatic

Anticlimactic for some. I'm still in therapy!
