70% humidity is not a bad thing, I have a few soakers, and to combat spillage problems, I only put a little water in the bowl, granted I have to check and change the water daily, but that's par for the course :)

If you get a bowl that is a smaller diameter it could help to bring your humidity down. Its not really how deep or shallow but how wide a bowl is that determines how much water evaporates into the air.

70% for a few hours won't hurt your snake. now if its 90% for a few days, then you should worry.
If the water bowl is tipping, maybe you could find a heavier ceramic dish?

Am just concerned that being at around 70% for a few hours every day might be harmful.

It's not that he tips the bowls but he gets inside. It quite cute to see him though!
I will try getting a slightly larger bowl but only half filling it see how that goes.
