    Best techniques for field herping?
I know kind of a stupid question. But I haven't really done much field herping in my life. Even though there aren't a whole lot of herps up in MA, I saw this post just now and was blown away, I have never seen a milk snake in MA... or a ring-neck... I have only seen garters :D I would love to go out and look for some! If only I knew where to look!

So, where do you look, where do these snakes hang around when they are above ground? What are some things you look for when field herping to find the most animals?

    buy this book.

    http://www.amazon.com/Snake-Hunting-...0774321&sr=8-1

the price was $15-20, but now its out of print...so the supply has made the price go up. still worth it if you are into field herping.
