setup pic; suggestions welcome!

so i'm getting my first bp tomorrow!! hooray! he's a 2008 Bumblebee, so i will post pics of him tomorrow!! i'm so excited i don't know if i will sleep tonight lol.

i've been reading and reading as many of "these kind of posts" as well as the caresheets to glean as much as i can, and apply it to what i've got setup.
anyhow, i spent yesterday putting some finishing touches on his house, and wanted to post a picture of how i've got it to see if any of you have any suggestions or comments!

So, its a 15g tank 24x12x12 with a wire locking lid. The back and 2 sides have black foam core insulation on them. I have a UTH on a dimmer on the right hand side of the tank, dimmed to 90*F. The lamp is a 50W Moonglow bulb to keep the ambient night temperature a bit higher, as the room this is in is at a temp of 70-75*F. I made the hides from terra cotta cactus pots (with no holes in the bottoms), though the one on the right's hole is a bit bigger than i'd like...i broke it a bit :weirdface His water dish is the green bowl on the left, and then i added some sterilized mopani wood to the tank for something to crawl on/start sheds.

I will be replacing the substrate with aspen once i pick him up, I'm picking up a bale of aspen at the same time. I have been temp-ing stuff with a heat gun, and have an indoor outdoor thermometer with a probe/humidity on the way (should arrive today) I just need to file a slot for the probe to fit under the lip of the warm hide.

Very nice setup. Once you put aspen down you shouldn't need to file a slot for the probe. You should be able to put the probe down, then aspen on top of that and then the hides can rest on the aspen. I press my hides down pretty good to make sure light is not coming in around the edges but I don't think the hides need to rest directly on the glass in order to keep your snake feeling safe. Really really nice setup though. Maybe get two indoor outdoor thermometer/hygrometers. I like to know the ambient temps on both sides, under both hides and the humidity on both sides but I am big into overkill.

As Egapal said, make sure you get some good temp readings before you get him all settled in. Aspen will react differently then the sand (or what looks like sand...) that you have in there now.

Do you have a uth?
If you run into problems with humidity you will want to cover lid with foil or something, there's some ideas in the DIY section
