UGH i hate eggs!!!

so im at like day 50 on these eggs i have. they were doing great, everything was peachy, they showed great veins. i look at them this morning and see several spots where the eggs are losing white...kinda going transparent. this is only happening on 2 eggs, the other one is perfect. nothing has changed in the bator. the other egg is still plump and showing veins. temps are fairly steady at 88.5.....


WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED!!?!??!?

Could moisture from the top of the tub have dropped on them?

Also on day 50 unless theres a major screw up their fine.. I've cut eggs on day 51 before..So I don't think you have anything to worry about

I would think that if they made it this far they are fine. Depending on your temps, they will hatch any day now.

Agree. :) Your golden -- no worries. Just sit back and wait for the heads to pop out. :banana:

Snakies are starting to release enzymes that break down the shell/soften it for pipping, so maybe they are getting close!

thanks guys!!! this is my first clutch and, well, i wasn't expecting that!!

so after reading many posts on here about cutting eggs and watching a couple of youtube videos on it....and after a night of saying yes cut....no wait....no cut.....well ok cut... i decided to cut the good eggs open. it was day 55 on saturday. the 2 that looked like they were going bad we actually bad. the animals were near full term but dead in the egg. the smell was horrible!!! im kinda bumbed because one of them had a all black head with an unbroken striped down its back....woulda been cool.

the 3rd egg has a great looking baby in it but i can't see its head. i think its head is at the bottom of the egg. is this okay?? it still is connected to the yolk so i think it will be a few more days before it comes out. it twitches every now and again so i know its still kickin!!

these were my first eggs so im excited to get at least one baby out of all of this!!!

The baby will right itself eventually.. No worries.

Congrats on the one baby, and know that no matter what you do sometimes, babies do die.. I'm sorry.

yeah i have herd this from many. even after they are out and moving there is still a chance that they won't make it. survival of the fittest!
