new 10 day old BP

So at the Pittsburgh show there is always a sketchy guy. And sunday he had baby imports and i picked one up. On sunday he said they were 6 days old, and for all i know she's a normal....She is just about to shed (poped her at show) These pics were taken Tuesday.

Very nice! but if she is only 10 days old shouldnt you wait til she has a couple meals before handling?

I saw them there myself but wouldn't let my kids talk me into getting one. I was there looking for a Spider and ended up with both my male spider and a nice looking normal female from Tony's Pets.

10 days old?!? .. No offense but where did you get it from? In my short time as a Ball Python owner/lover/admirer I have always heard that you should always wait to buy the babies after they have their first sheds and have eaten properly 3 times. I would give your little one some time before handling it cause stress can be a real issue especially with hatchlings. I would say now that its over and done, to give your snake about 2 weeks ( I know it sounds hard) just to be a snake. No handling but regular feedings. Do you know if its even eaten before? what was it eating?

Thats a fine littel ball you got there.. But i don't get why people will sell a ball there never have shed or eaten...

Hatchling imports are almost always imported fresh out of the egg. Most are sold before they even arrive and most do very well with proper husbandry. It is actually very common with import hatchlings.

Yeah, they were imported i know. And he told me it hasnt shed and he hasnt tried to feed it yet. I'm aware i should really keep handling to a minimum, but i wanted to snap some photos. I have little baby mice that just got walking that i plan on trying to feed it once it sheds. I dont wanna play with trying to give it FT. And like i said, he is always there and hes VERY sketchy. Thats why he was sellin them so young, i picked her up for $15.

PGHballs, yeah, i was plannin on pickin up tonys het axanthic or hex albino pair, but dont have the room yet so i held off. I need to build my rack. But i spent most of the time talkin to him about random stuff there so maybe i saw you and didnt realize lol. I have long hair. if that helps. I was actually thinkin about gettin that spider you bought, was depressed to see it was gone when i came back to the table.
