My snake drowned a mouse...
So my proven breeder female is past her first week here and ready to eat and she was eating FT at her last place. So, me being the genius that i am, Decides i'm gonna feed her a live one since i breed them so i already have them and its easier for me to get them. So i toss it in and for the first few minutes it was like chase, she was go up to it, it would run away...like that for 5 min. Then the thing was walking on the ledge of her water dish and she GENTLY struck it, and didnt really coil. Well they landed in her water dish. the water not up to the mouses mouth, its just sitting there, breathing heavily with the snake biting its head. Then, i guess the snake realized that it needed to kill it so it adjusted itself and the mouses head went underwater...and she ended up drowning it....I couldnt watch lol. I'm fine with the constriction cause it quick but that was weird :O

Haha seriously. I love reading cute stories like this (well this one would be on the morbid side)
Re: My snake drowned a mouse...
I've had a lot of snakes drown their food. Mostly the speckled racers I had. They'd grab the rat pinkies, drag them all the way to the bowl, and hold them in until they died. Only seen a few BPs do that, though, and they'd usually just leave the body in the bowl afterwards.
I've also had f/t eaters do the same thing regarding not constricting. My first BP ate f/t (and I did not know that until later on), and she swallowed the rat alive. Odd thing was the rat didn't even put up a fight. It just sat there all the way down.

I have a silly visual image of your snake bouncing its head in the air and shouting "thug life!"
Re: My snake drowned a mouse...
My first ball used to use its tail as a decoy. The first time I saw it I thought I just imagined things, but then I saw him do it several times after that.
He would slowly move the tip of his tail back and forth. It would usually get the mouse's attention, and just kind of hypnotize it. As the mouse would watch the tail mesmorized, the snake would come up from behind and blind side it.
It was pretty cool...
