    first time breeding
Hi this is our first time breeding. We have been trying to breed our 10 yr old female and our 3 yr old male, both normals. But we havent had any luck. We have been putting them together for 3 days and then seperating them for 3 days but have not had any action at all. Is there anything we can do to help or any advice you could give?

did you cool them? You will have to wait till they are ready.

Put another male with your male.

This is a risky pratice. Breeding these animals isn't as simple as throwing them together. Sometimes they aren't in the mood.

Combating males is not something I would recommend. There are a lot of breeders on this site who may be able to give you more information, I have never breed these snake, although I plan to. Combating males is stressful and from what i understand the losing male may not breed for the year, or more.

My suggestions are, start cooling to the appropriate temperatures. Get a sperm plug from another male and put it on your females back. Or a shed from another female and place it in the enclosure with them. Sometimes these can trigger breeding. If not, perhaps your girl just isn't interested or your boy isnt. Sometimes they just don't want to go.

I'm sure someone with experience can also chime in as well.
