    rack tub idea
so Ive been thinking about tub ideas for a birthing rack
    I found these
    http://www.reptilesupply.com/product.php?products_id=69

So i would think that a small one would be a decent size for 1 rat and her pups... I may be wrong...?

but for just over 3 bucks that wouldnt be that bad for a clear tub thats made out of a pretty hard plastic. Mostly astetic (sp) plus they come with a handy pre ventalated top with a handle and window!  lol

I know a lot of people use the kitty litter pans of the 6qt bins, and im not sure what everyone is paying for those

Just an idea on another tub to use :gj:

ps: i like these for my asfs because like many others here, i think there fun to watch

IMO, none of them are well suited for rodents. The small is not nearly big enough for a nursing mom, and neither is a 6qt tub.

why don't you think there suited for rodents?
It was just a thought because i saw these at the local petshop but they are rediculously overpriced so i found them cheaper.

yeah except the siz tub you would need is about 3 times the price of the litter pans everyone is using. If only they were cheaper

The dimensions are not ideal for rodents. They are too box shaped. Price is high and they don't provide adequate ventilation if you are talking about using them with the tops on. I think sticking with kitty pans, cement tubs or iris/sterilites of appropriate size is best.

oh ok i guess your right on that. I meant to use them without the top and be used just like the normal tubs in a rack. Then they also have a handy top for...cleaning cages, moving them... etc. Sorry for the confusion on that.
