Oh my god.. how annoying!!! but funny in a way

I listed a few rats on CL as I had too many and I wanted the cutest ones to get a home. So this woman emails me and then she calls me..

turns out shes a rat rescue and I was stuck on the phone with her for 23 minutes, listening to how its horrible feeding rats to snakes and she doesn't understand why I or people like myself like snakes and can stand putting an animal into another animals cage and watch it die. asking me WHY i like snakes and what I seen in them? and how she dont eat meat and yadda yadda yadda... i told her well we will agree to disagree and that if I do ever get over run I would consider her rat rescue.

I love my rats, they are treated better than most peoples rats who dont breed and dont have snakes. They get all kinds of treats and chew toys, interaction, the cleanest of cages etc.. And this woman thinks she has the right to judge me but in a condescending manor.. basically being a (female dog) but w/ a nice voice..

I kept trying to politely hang up and she wouldnt (the whole time thinking "I CANT BELIEVE i GAVE THIS WOMAN MY NUMBER!" . then I finally used our 2 y/o as an excuse as it was bedtime, "2 year old? how OLD are you?" I said 31, she said I sounded much older than 31.. Wow polite much? lmao

Anyway, just thought some of you would get a kick out of this. My friends and myself all got a kick out of it once I hung up.

Wow. I have a vegetarian at work that does the same thing. I just look at her and say, "What do you think your dog eats?" At least mine is wholesome. We finally came to an agreement when I took my snake into work, and she held it for like an hour. I didn't think she was ever going to give it back!

Ugh, that can get really annoying sometimes. Thanks for the story, I got a kick out of it! Atleast she didn't eat meat...because I've gotten yelled at by people who eat meat, and well, that doesn't make much sense.

I was vegetarian for about 5 years...and I had snakes at the time...had no problem feeding rodents to my snakes cuz thats what they eat!!!....even had rats and mice as pets...vegetarians have to realize that they're are so by choice and its neither right nor wrong, its personal preferance. whats wrong is when people get preachy about it...on either side...veg or not..:cool:

That made my day! The last time I talked to someone THAT bad, I told him when he can get his cat to eat brussle sprouts, I would consider trying my snakes on veggies! He shut up.

Bet she loves PETA too and thinks it's just fine and dandy..

Snakes are horrible for eating rats,
but dogs are great, because they eat lambs.
Yes.. yes.. I see the difference! Dogs only eat animals that are maimed and destroyed to the point of being tiny dried bits sealed in plastic bags!!!
Next time tell her that you'll start grinding the rats up, drying the resulting meaty mash, and then you'll feed THAT to the snakes. When she goes "Ewww!!!" tell her that's what she feeds her dogs and cats.
I tell people that their dogs and cats eat other animals too, my snakes are just more honest.
