    UTH questions
Hello! I have recently bought a 30-40 gal zoomed UTH. I was wondering is there a preferred method to control the heat? because right now it's wayy too hot..

also, I have the heater attached to glass, but one side of the cage is plexyglass. All 5 other side are also glass, but ONE side is a plexyglass door that i made. Is the OK? The heater is not directly touching the plexyglass.

any other advice is appreciated. :)

    thanks!

Yes, a thermostat or herpstat. You should already have one hooked up if you have ball pythons already. The temerature should be regulated before getting the snake. They can burn easily with temps getting to 100 or more. AND any UTH or heating device can go through a power surge, and burn your bps. Any how, enough of the lecture.

The stat plugs into the wall, and you plug the UTH into the stat. It's no different than a thermostat in your house. Go to www.kingsnake.com and look under businesses. Go through the 100's of sites on there to find one. The best ones are going to cost you $100 and up. You can get a hepstat for around $30-$50, but they should only be used temporarily. If you need to, read the caresheets in this section, and it will explain all about them.

I think you mean a reptitempt 500R is 30-50. A herpstat is a really nice stat and is pretty expensive.
