    Quick Update! re: HR 669
We’re getting a lot of emails letting us know that many Representatives offices have suddenly stopped answering their phones this afternoon. Make sure to leave a polite message and call again tomorrow or Monday if you don’t get through.

    Thanks!

Representative = to represent the state assigned to them.

They can't represent, if they decide not to listen.

yet they still support stuff federally when it cant pass in their own state!
sounds like it not part of the job description and should be illegal

between us and the gun sites with their assault weapon ban i think they will be swamped with emails

Or it could be that it just happens to be Easter Weekend and they want to get home to their families.

Exactly. But a polite message requesting a return call first thing Monday morning will get there week started the right way.

Haha, hadn't thought about that one.

    Very true indeed.

Emphasis on the POLITE! Folks, please don't leave an angry, belligerent message. That doesn't do our cause any good. :colbert:

Thanks for the update Adam. :gj:

I agree, be polite - follow the "script" on http://www.nohr669.com - it was as easy as that when I called my Representative's office this morning. Even had short chat about the weather in Marietta, and then he repeated "that was no for HR669 - thank you for calling!". I'll be calling this weekend and leaving a message and every week day. I'm going to try to see if I can't reach my Rep's local office this coming week as well.

    Thank you everyone!

Not sure which 669 post to post this in

What I am running across when telling people about this bill is two different things. One is "well we need to have better laws, look what happened in the chimp attack or the pythons that are taking over Florida, I don't want them loose in my area!" or "this is so ridiculous that there is no way this will pass, why should I take the time/effort to do anything".
