    I don't like my temps!
I decided to start a new one!

I am using a prewired Ranco thermostat. For about a month now I've been using it with great success, temperatures only varied about 3*F.

However, I checked just now and one probes are telling me this.

    Top: 90*F
    Middle1: 86*F
    Middle2: 90*F
    Bottom: 95*F

What would cause those fluctuations from the thermostat? No storms or anything!

    This morning they read:
    Top: 91*F
    Middle1: 86*F
    Middle2: 91*F
    Bottom: 95*F

Which level is the thermostat probe on?

The probe is now on the bottom enclosure, thanks to Drew's advice!

I had a previous problem with temps where everything was reading in the high 80s and one was over 100*F (bottom).

The temps are looking better now, all in the low nineties. But what can I do if that doesn't stick? Kaorte help! :taz:

Are you using flexwatt? are the pieces wired separately or in parallel?

I have heard that you are supposed to put the probe on the middle shelf.

Using all of the same UTHs. I originally had the probe under the middle cage, which gave me outrageous temps on the bottom.

I can say that there is a difference in the thickness whenthey printed flexwatt and that can causes a difference in the heat as it changesthe resistance...

Is the thermostat probe directly on the heat tape?

Middle shelf is a good idea, also, your temps are for the most part, fine.

No one's dying of heat or cold.
