Re: I friggin' killed it!
Looks like she had an excellent molt! I've always heard to NEVER flip them over during the molt, that it can actually be fatal. Seeing as she flipped over herself and had already molted, she'll be fine.
When I saw my first molt in process, I thought the same thing. Thought I had killed it, but she flipped over and I saw her shiny new skin. :P
I need to get me a G. rosea that looks like that. :D

::shudders:: okay... very pretty from this side of MY computer screen.. and that's about it! but glad that she is doing well and you didn't kill her like you thought. ::quickly clicks to a different thread:: :D
Re: I friggin' killed it!
That is really interesting. I had never seen a photo of a molt before. It looks like a whole body rather that the shed skin of a snake.

Oooo ooo,
If you make up a solution of glyserine and water you can soften up the joints of the shed skin and pose it. :gj:
Oh and don't forget to take pics of the inside of the booklung area in as good a detail as you can get so we can play the sexing game. :D
Heres is a quick snap I just took of my old shed spider skin collection in various states of destruction - people seem unable to resist picking them up and breaking them.

Some people put them in a little frame on the wall too.
And to reassure everyone else who see's this process - spiders tend to die facing the right way up with their legs curled in underneath them. :gj:

Even though spiders in general freak me out a bit - they ARE fascinating! I wish I could have witnessed the actual molt.

I may have to try that with her next molt. I wanted to save this one, but as I was getting ready to snap a pic of the molt again so we could play the sexing game - Boner jumped on the bed, and now the molt is in pieces. Damn dog. :rage:
