    2 story rat house
Thought I'd share my latest "invention". Okay, it's the most carpentry I can do. Just stack a few wood blocks, wrap up with tape, then put a piece of plywood on top, put some bedding, voila. Of course, it was too much for my skills to figure out a "lip" on the plywood to keep the bedding from spilling over the edge...

If that is a plastic lid they will chew out and escape, you can replace it with wire mesh (the type you make the hoppers from) here's a pic of mine

The cover is plastic with wire fabric underneath. They could possibly chew through the locks though because that's plastic and goes through the wire. It's smooth and rounded, so it might be hard to gain purchase. I'll have to watch that one - any sign of chewing and I'll have to figure out how to make it non-chewable. They have to chew 2 locks before they can lift the cover.

I like that cover you made llovelace. I'll have to make something like that!

Yeah, if my snakes go through a fast again, I'll have to figure out a grow-out tub. There are 12 rats in that 10-gallon thing - it won't hold any more.

lisa I like that lid lol , I know my asf are chewing on my wire top ( reptile kind withthe metal wire it taking them a while but they starting to pull pieces of wire out at atime.. I had been using a narrower version of the hardware cloth ( it no as wide ) and tackingi tot a piece of plywood design to fit h elid so no escapes. it fuun to watch them chew on the wire and the plywood whiel hanging upside down making atryo for freedom..

I laso like the ideal of a mutlistory hiding area I might give a version ofit a try .. make a lower and uper level for them to roam. I see if a second alyer are to ghide/chew on will allwo the wheel I got in theer ot actually be used to run on not lay on lol.. I get some pics up once I build it over this comming weekend.
