    Scale Rot?
My ball python went into shed about 2 weeks ago and at first i thought it was unusual for them to go pink. It then dull and i thought it was just a normal shed. Because im at boarding school i only come back on weekends and i found it still hadn't shed but their was a strange liquid oozing from its belly. A week later i came home and found brown patches on it and it still hadn't shed:confused:. I'm going to the vet sometime today. My temps are correct but i'm using reptibark and i sprayed her for shedding. I think the reptibark kept too much humidity. I have disinfected its cage and switched to paper towels. Is this scale rot? and should i be worried at this stage? and what kind of treatment do they give them? Please help me

Sounds like a possibility of scale rot, but none of us can say for certain without seeing some type of pictures, let us know what the outcome of the vet is, and I hope everything is ok.

Went to the vet, it wasn't scale rot caused by high humidity. The opposite it is too dry and she had a double shed, but because it was too dry she didn't get it off. The vet got the shed skin off and it looks like the second layer wasn't due to shed for couple of days so shes really soft and won't eat. The layer underneath started rotting so it was scale rot but not the normal scale rot from extreme humidity. She was given antibiotics, painkillers and cream to put on daily. Her belly is bright red and looks very sore but its better than infected brown coloured.
