Re: Breeding my jungle corn
I know this is a kind of old post but I see this question to often when it comes to jungles. Jungle corns are half kings snake, when king snakes an milk snakes breed they will often times do what is called love bites. they are not trying to hurt the female but its just a part of the mating ritual. Now when a king is breed to a corn often times the offspring inherit this trait. A lot of the time though people who are not familiar with breeding king snakes think when they see the male jungle start biting the corn snake it is being paired with they think its trying to eat the corn when actually it is trying to breed the female. As long as hes not constricting when he bites he is not trying to eat them and it is normal behavior. Also it is important to note that female kings and jungle corns don't do love bites so if your female is trying to bite the male most likely she is trying to eat him or feels threatened by him. Hope this helps people!
