    Had my first escapee!
    My Yellowbelly male escaped!

I came downstairs this morning to see his tub was moved.... I checked in the tub and he was nowhere to be seen.

I instantly freaked! I have cats, and thought that they may have gotten to him, but we lock them in our room at night so they don't get into the snakes nor can they stress them out.

I immediately began searching around the rack, because they never get far. He was not under anything near it, so i searched the kitchen (under the dishwasher, the fridge, the mats, etc) then in the laundry room under both units, then under the couch in the living room. He was nowhere... :(

I then figured he may have slithered under the pantry door, so I checked around the garbage can and my recycling bins, then under the vacuum, and finally the carpet cleaner and there he was all coiled up and cold.

I'm just glad my first escapee was not a lethal adventure for the little guy. He is now back in his 28qt tub and enjoying nice 93 degree temps.

Glad you found him. it took me 30 min. to find my girl when she escaped. We went out to a movie so she must had been missing for a few hours. She was sitting in one of my dresser drawers, and she just looked at me like, "What is the matter with you, it's cold in here!" I was worried it might affect her feeding, but she ate like a champ :)

I havn't had any escapes, and hopefully I never do. I couldn't imagine tearing my room apart, wow it's a mess too. Glad you found her as quick as you did, did you ever figure out how his tub got moved?

It either got moved too far back from when water bowls got changed last night, or by one of the 3 cats... but nonetheless the back is being put on my rack this weekend to avoid this in the future. :gj:

I wish I had a seperate room for my snakes, it would work out perfectly. I wouldn't let any other pets near it though lol.

I do but they still can escape I bumped one of the tub and pop the lid ( didn't know it) I found the snake 4 days later. I nosure if I bumped it whiel I was moving the rack and other snake cages or if it was dine after I put the tubs back in he rack. either way she got out and found .. I do have a piece of wood alnog the bottom of the door to limit what can squeeze under it. I also. make sure i can move stuff around a little when needed. I planning on build a second rack this summer ( got need to by end of may I figure with the cor neggs due to hatch about then. )

anyone implant their snakes with microchips?

I would think there's got to be a few people around that have done it. not just for finding their snake in case of an escape , but for insurance purposes or for recover in case of theft.

if I spent 5-10k on a snake I'd definitely think about it.

a microship in a snake would be hard they dont have any free fatty areas really that dont have an organ or muscle needed for movement packed into it. it would prove to be rather uncomfortible for the snake im betting.
