Buying a new red tail

Hi everyone. I want to purchase a red tail and I'll probably go to somewhere like Petsmart. What should I be concerned about buying from a store as opposed to a private breeder?

I would not buy from petsmart. They have great reputible breeders on this site and just in general that you can get a great snake, a completely healthy one.
