    Big Cheese Rodents Packaging
    Hi,

I just received two bags of rat pups. I noticed they are vacuum sealed, and I was wondering how to keep it closed properly when they have been opened.

The bags from Mice Direct were ziploc type bags, so how do you Big Cheese customers keep your bags sealed?

    Thanks,

You can go to your local grocery store and buy a ziplock vaccuum kit and a box of bags. After removing what you will be thawing, place your package in a ziplock vaccuum bag, and pump the pump. Vaccuum sealing is made easy these days ;).

I just use a freezer storage bag and slide the tray into it. The pups fit fine the full tray, but the small rats I need to take an inch off before it will fit. I just make sure to burp the bag well before sealing it.

Yeah, Rich, I just checked the 1gal ziplocs and it seems they would fit perfectly.

I've heard Big Cheese has good rodents. One tray looks really clean, but the other one has some blood and I think some urine on the rats. :(

Grab one of these from any major food or department store, Matt. One of the handiest things I own for both kitchen use and for frozen rodent storage. I got mine on sale for only $3.00 but generally they run around $8.00 I think. The bags aren't horribly expensive either. It works like a dream!

Off topic, but last spring I was walking out of a T station in downtown Boston on my way to work and people were handing these out for free. I got two of them but I saw people with like four or five. They actually work pretty well.

I love mine. I figure I've saved a ton on not losing food to spoilage since we got ours. It's small, handy and easy to use so I have been able to get the family to use it. Really nice to go to get a piece of lunch meat and it's actually still fresh. I would think for a single person it would be a very handy thing since you could buy in bulk and properly re-package things for the freezer so easily.

I love kitchen gadgets that don't take up a ton of counter space. :)
