    Too hot
Is there a sign that it's too hot for your BP in his enclosure? My temps and humidity are nominal, but I was just sitting here thinking. When my bearded dragons or iguanas were too hot, they would gape. Just curious, thanks!

Your bp will do numerous things to let you know if the enclosure is too warm. Remember, the best way to tell is with a THERMOMETER! With that said, look for these symptoms:

    For UTH:

snake is always trolling, can never find a good resting spot
snake is always sitting on top of water bowl or hide
    snake is irritable
    For HL's

snake is always in the cool side of the viv
snake is always trolling, searching for something not obvious to the observer
    snake is irritable

These are the most common symptoms i've noted. Other members are sure to post what i've left out. Good luck!

bp's will do what any living creater will do. get as far away as possible from the source. so if they are climbing on top of something or in a awkword cramped position in a corner on or in something. obvious things.

Then how do snakes get burned?

They aren't all that smart really. If they need to warm their body temperature, they will just sit on the hot spot. If it is too hot, they will get burned.

there are cases where they get burned of course... as do we. like when we get sun burned. but they can also clue in and retreat. it depends how how the source actually is. some times they clue in after its to late. lol just like i do every summer.
