Your Colony - in or out of your snake room?
Hi All
My small colony is now taking shape:gj: and I was wondering if you have your colony in your snakeroom or do you keep it separate.
Reason I'm asking is that I'll be moving house shortly:banana: and as I'll have more space to keep my snakes and I'm yet undecided whether to have the colony in the same room as the snakes?
What are your thoughts on the pros and cons?
Thx
Re: Your Colony - in or out of your snake room?
I have not noticed any difference with my ball's behavior or feeding since bringing my colonies in the room (ASFs).

Thanks Corvid
At one time I kept my rats in the same room and noticed that all my balls were out looking hungry. They no doubt thought that food was coming and were ready for it...
My concern is how the balls will react to continued exposure to "Food is here!"

I currently have 2 full racks of rats/mice I haven't seen any differance. I'm sure that if I were to remove them presenting the room would work better at feeding time.. But right now no issues

I think it's alright to have them in the same room. I don't. When I bring in the rats at feeding time my snakes know it.

In the room, no problems.
You just have to get creative with prescenting. ;]

Mine are out because they stink!:)

I've done both, I had the rat racks in the room at first. Then it was too crowded, so I moved the rats out. I noticed no difference at all in behavior or feeding response. That's my $0.02
