    lighting question
before i get my head bitten off i know most people would not recommend any type of heat lamp because they sap humidity but im curious about the repti glo bulbs. I wanted to know if the infrared and night glo bulbs give off UVB and what kind of lights are alternatives for night viewing. I'm thinking of using either a low watt infrared or a low watt moonlight bulb. Any info would be appreciated.

I have the moonlight glo bulb and I am pretty sure it is an incandescnet light and doesn't give off UVB. It does give of quite a bit of heat though.

I think the moonlight bulb looks great at night compared to the red bulbs. I have the 25watt bulb and its pretty good. I would for sure watch your humidity if you are thinking about a bulb.

Yes, alot of people do not recommend heating lamps because they do hit humidity. In some cases an UTH is not sufficent enough though, as it doesn't always raise the temperatures to the needed temperature. I have the blue moon glow bulb also, I have the 75 watts(its all they had at the time) but I keep them on a dimmer switch and keep it only about 1/4 way up so it lights up the tank, but doesn't emitt alot of heat.

Get the moonlight bulb, Try a 25 or 45 watt to get light and not emitt alot of heat. If it still emitts heat, adjust your UTH at night.
