    holy evil!!
i just picked up a pair of bloods from a friend in town. this will be my second time having bloods. my first male (that i traded for a ball python) wasn't bad. he musked more than anything but never bit me. he struck at me a few times but never tagged me.

now these guys.......holy bejolyee!! every time i get near the tubs i hear them banging into them. i remember seeing these guys shortly after they hatched and they bit my friend several times. and when i was over there picking out which ones i wanted, he got tagged at least 6 times. and they hit hard!!! im not looking forward to bites from these guys!!

i know i know pictures, pictures.....they will be posted tonight when i get home.

That's exactly why i'm breeding for temperament (and of course color). I have 2 08 offspring from my breeders and they have only been picked up a handful of times and are more docile than my ball pythons. No musking, no squirming, no striking, but they do hiss. I can deal with that. Its all about selective breeding.

I'm surprised your bloods are so upset. What are you keeping them in?

They could hurt themselves if they hit their enclosure hard enough, I suggest covering their enclosure to avoid broken teeth and infected mouths. If you know they are going to strike when you move by, then cover it. No reason to let them go on hurting themselves when it's a simple fix.

they are the ones from matt. didn't you see them at the meeting when he brought them?

they are in 15 qt. tubs right now. they were a bit jumpy because i just brought them home. but they have clamed down a little. i didn't mess with them too much just poked in to check on them and they didnt' strike.

Yeah you will definately see a big change in their temperament from when you first get them to about 2wks after they have settled in. They are more than likely stressed out and will calm down in a week or two.

By the size of the tub I can safely guess that they're still young! :) They should calm down a lot as they get older, too.

Oh, I see that most of the smileys are upside down... April fools joke, I take it...
