Shedding without being eating for months?
    Hello,

My female ball python had a male ball python with her in her tank for a while in autumn. I didn't actually think they would breed cause i didn't do any preparations for it, but I wanted to test if it could really work without them.

I separated the male in winter and the female hasn't been eating since early january. She hasn't lost weight, but neither gained it. She hasn't been into basking in the warm (not that she ever had, she really likes being in the cool side) area so I have thought that she can't be carrying eggs.

But today I noticed something strange; she's going to shed. This is very weird to me cause normally my snakes haven't been shedding while they have been fasting. Is this normal, or might she be gravid after all? Last time when she shed was in december and has been eating only twice after it.

She also looks pretty fat when she's coiled.
