    Egg Tub Temps(?)
    Hello . . .

My incubator is a small fridge with Flexwatt, Herpstat, water bottles and a fan to control/regulate temps. At this time I have 1 egg tub inside that is on day 31 (9 eggs). The tub is located at about the mid point of the fridge and I have the Herpstat probe on top of the egg box lid. I also have a temp gauge probe on top of the lid and a temp gauge probe inside the egg tub. I have the eggs on crate material over straight water.

I have adjusted the T-stat so that the egg tub temps stay around 88.5-90.0. At this time the Herpstat is set to 87 and the egg tub is now getting to 90.4 degrees. How concerned should I be with the tub temp getting too high? From what I gather a lot of breeders do not even measure the tub temp. (Obviously that would get ridiculous with a large number of tubs.)
Should I just pull the probe out of the tub and just set Herpstat and be done?
All eggs look good and have movement when candled.

Thanks in advance for any help

    Jim

I am in no means an expert or anything. If it were me I would lower the tstat a degree or two to see if the temp drops back down in range. It sounds like the eggs are creating their own heat.

ive had the same problem as you. my tub temps fluctuate often. i have 6 eggs going bad so i think they are putting off heat as they decay.
