Can a painted bowl be harmful for my snake?
I noticed the plastic bowls I'm using Isn't dark enough to suit the snake. They're pretty transparent. I'm thinking painting them black so he can have a restful days nap. Will this harm him? What kind of paint should I use? I have printscreen and acrylic.

Personally I wouldn't paint them. Pretty much any dollar store has tons of very cheap plastic bowls in darker colors. My local one for instance has 3 dark blue plastic cereal bowls for $1.00. Btw, watch just after hallowe'en. There's always tons of black plastic candy bowls and the like on sale. They make great snake hides. :)

I asked this same question when i first got my snake as well. Snakes absorb stuff through their skin so if there is anything toxic to the snake whatsoever the snake could get sick from it.

If it is a non toxic spray paint, then you should be able to spray it. Just make sure you let it dry, air out, and disinfect it before placing it back in the cage. I would also seal the paint if you can.
