    New Beardie Behavior
So I picked up a little beardie at the local reptile show today. My first question has to do with their learning capabilities. I set up a 20L for him and put the desert-looking aquarium backing on it. He keeps making attempts to climb the fake rocks in the picture! I feel so bad for him. The first time he did it he actually jumped off of his basking rock in an attempt to reach the peak of the the higher one in the picture.

Do y'all think he will eventually figure it out or should I remove the backing for a few days until he gets used to the actual layout of his habitat?

    Thanks,
    Robbin

I dont think he is trying to climb the rocks, I think its the new enclosure and he is just glass dancing.

Remove it and see if he is still glass dancing.

Mine glass dances often. One of them will try and eat a bamboo plant thats near the cage when she sees it move, the other one has no interest. I have heard that bearded dragons will attempt to climb up fake backgrounds that appear to have ledges or branches, and it can make them quite upset.
