should i be worried?

my little male, Bradley began shedding around the 20th and it was not a good shed. he got the skin off his head but that was it and he didnt seem to be trying anymore so i soaked him every other day for 6 days starting the 22nd until i got most of it off but there is still a ring of old skin left around his neck right behind his head. he is very head shy and does not like when i tried to get it off after soaking. should i continue to soak him or will it just come off in the next shed? i dont want to stress him too much...

temps are ok and humidity has been up around 65%. i keep him in a 10 gallon tank with a UTH, 2 hides one on each side and a water dish in the middle. he has been eating fine, and there are no signs of mites or other parasites.

I would make sure to remove any skin that encircles his body - he might not like it but I would soak him so it is easy to remove then bite the bullet and take it off.

I wouldn't worry about retained little pieces here and there, they usually come off on their own but if it's completely enveloping his neck try a warm wet washcloth or paper towel. Wrap it around the affected area and as he naturally glides through your hand the wet cloth should help it come off... And if he's a youngster try to get him used to you touching his head, it will help prevent painful bites as an adult ;)

When you start to see you snakes skin get dull as well as cloudy eyes, up your humidity a lot so that your next shed will be much less stressful on you and your BP!

i soaked him last night and used a Q-tip and im pretty sure i got everything off and he only struck at me once! :D
