    Update
No eggs from Akina, my normal who was bred with a 100% het. pied normal male. I was really hoping, but nothing. She shed on the 23rd of February. Any chance she's still hiding eggs? I doubt it.

it is pretty obvious when they are getting ready to lay. If you pick them up and let their bottom half hang you can see the eggs slide toward the bottom of the tail. at the very end when I did this I could actually see some of the individual eggs.

How long can they go before laying eggs? After what I thought was an ovulation, she stayed kind of big but now that I look at her, she looks normal.

My first clutch this year was laid 40 days after pre-lay shed.

They usually lay between 27 to 35 days after pre-lay shed, that is an average and of course it can be longer however has Mike explained at this point you should clearly see and feel the eggs.

If you cannot see the eggs at this point my guess would be that you saw her building up and though it was an ovulation.
