    700g Feed Question
My female pastel is dancing just above the 700g marker. For most of her short life I have fed her every 5 days but have just recently (this last month) moved to every 7 days. I have been feeding her ONE ~40g ASF for each feeding. Lately, she's been roaming around her tub after she eats as if she's still hungry. I see a lump but not a very noticeable lump after she puts the rat down.

Does anyone have any numbers on the gram size of rats with the gram size of snake that you feed? I'm pretty sure I need to bump up her food size but I was just curious if anyone has any size statistics for feeding...

    Thanks!

I do not do grams...I just do size, I like to see a little lump. A lot of people do the 10-15% rule, which means you snake should be eating a rodent atleast 70g to 100g.

I sort of follow the 10-15% rule...but since I rarely weigh out the feeders anymore, we pretty much follow the slight lump rule now. Our boas are fed pretty strictly on this regime, and we were pushing or corns too hard, so after a regurge each, we are stepping it down to no lump for a while. I am just happy the bp is eating again, so she is getting live adult(ish) ASF's. So far it has just been grow-ups, but when they run out and we have a younger breeder replacements ready to breed, I think she will be getting the retired breeders.

Give her 2 asf's, I follow the 10-15% rule, all feeders get weighed before feeding off My 1400gr will gets the # os rats usually 2 to meet the % that's needed
