    A little problem
So in the midst of reading the uncle henrys tonight I come across a lady giving away a 6 foot Albino Burm. 90 gallon tank, heaters, all the jazz. I called and she still has it so I have been talking with her about getting it. Well the problem came up when i realized that they were not legal in Maine :( Stupid laws. So I guess I'll have to pass on this for now, however I saw a provision that lets you apply for a license to have any python other than a ball, anyone tried to do this. I'm betting it's not easy but I'm thinking it's better than the $10,000 fine AND losing your snake and probably having it get killed by animal control.

Most states do require permits for large constrictors. I'm not sure how easily they are obtained as like nobody I know has one. Here in Illinois I think a snake over 8' you need a permit for, but I heard there is a bi-law that if it's in a locked cage it's fine. Contact a herp society in your area (state even) and see if you can get more information from them.
