Is she going to lay eggs?
I have a normal female I started the cooling down oct 1st and started introducing my male graz pastel to her 2 days on but shorter if I noticed a lock then two days off. I did this until feb and I palpated her and felt 5 follicles in her and they are getting bigger everytime I check her. She refuses to eat and its been almost two months since she's shed feb 3rd was her last shed most of the time she sheds right at about a month apart. This is my firs time breeding and im just wondering whats going on. I try to do all the research I can to make sure it is succesful, does anyone have any advice or info that might help me...?

Is she going to lay eggs?
I have a female normal 1400 grams I bred to a male graz pastel 600 grams. I started the cooling down oct 1st and started introducing the male to the female nov 1st 2 days on two off all the way through till middle of feb, noticed at least 5 lockups during this time. I stopped introducing the male once I felt follicles. I count 5 they are getting bigger everytime I check. Her last shed was feb 3rd and its been almost two months with no shed, she has never gone this long without shedding most of the time she sheds monthly. I never noticed her ovulation if she has yet. Im just kinda wondering whats going on. I am currently setting up an incubator for the eggs also. do you have any info on this? or whats going on.

Unless you've noticed an ovulation you can't be sure. Keep pairing her with the male until she rejects him.

I thought that if she has follicles then its a dun deal no more need to introduce the male. thats what I got from watching ralph davis on a youtube video about follicle development. He said I feel follicles its a dun deal no more usefor the male...Is this correct or am I missunderstanding?

Follicles are just follicles, I believe the female can develop them even if she hasn't been with a male.

There's no guarantee that she'll lay. I breed until I witness ovulation. Did you sell him, because you thought you'd simply replace him with a baby you produced? I had a pastel clutch last year that resulted in NO pastels, only normals. Sometimes the odds gods won't be in your favor.

That is not correct. Females start producing follicles at the beginning of the breeding season, and they may eventually turn into eggs, but not always. If the follicles do not grow large enough, the female will just absorb them. Once follicles are large enough, she will attempt to fertilize them with retained sperm. If no sperm is available, she will lay slugs (unfertilized eggs). If sperm is available, she will fertilize the eggs and drop them around a month-and-a-half later.

Sorry to hear you sold your male. Hopefully she retains his sperm, and lays for you. Good luck!
