pattern variation in babies
i was wondering how varied are the patterns of babies. would hatchlings from this girl look mostly like her with okay flames and a small amount of blushing. or is it completly random where i could get some like her and some that have tons of blushing. i know the father would have to throw in his .02 worth of genes too. i am just curious.
i guess i am asking is blushing and flaming heriditary or random.

It is definitely hereditary, but it is not a simple Mendelian gene. There are probably several genes that when combined determine how much blushing a snake will have. Pattern also plays a role, and probably has a similar set of genes that determine a snake's pattern. If a snake has a super busy pattern, there just isn't much room for lots of blushing.
This is where selective breeding is important. If you want to hatch out pastels with lots of blushing, you need to start out with animals that have lots of blushing, then hold back the best examples of the look you are going for.
That doesn't mean there is anything wrong with your girl because she doesn't have a lot of blushing. Some people like less blushing in a pastel, because it provides more of a black/yellow contrast.

thanks.
i actually picked this girl over one with lost of blushing. the blush girl was 250 and this one was 150. i figured the price difference was due to tthe lack of special stuff. but i really like this yellow/black look. and the gold shows up better too, it's awesome. i mean, i'll eventually have both, i just didnt't know what she might spit out in a few years.
