    I've always read about people thinking their snake might be impacted but what exactly is this and what exactly can cause it?

    Please be as detailed as possible...

    Impaction is basically when the snake ingests something that it can't digest properly. Thus it doesn't pass through the digestive system correctly and causes a back-up.

    At least, thats the best way I can explain it :/

    think of it as putting too much toilet paper in the can.

    it cant do its regular job because its plugged up. and therefor backs up.
