    Petland Discounts
I don't know if this is the right place for this or not, but I just got back from Petland Discounts where I purchased one small-medium frozen rat. The guy working at the store went into the freezer and got it out for me, but it wasn't until I got home that I realized how disgusting it was. I trusted the rat was in good shape(bad idea) because I've purchase frozen from there recently and the rats were in good shape. This one looked like it USED to be an albino rat, but it was now yellow from urine and had poop all over it. I thought maybe the rat was put in there alive :(. The bag was also unmarked plastic which got me thinking they might freeze their own rats via a regular freezer. Does anyone know how they euthanize their rodents?

I am not accusing them of anything, but I would like to know if my suspicions are true or not.

*Warning: Pictures of the Rat are coming up*

Just so you guys know what I'm talking about here are some pics. You can't really get an idea of how yellow some parts of it is, but I definitely won't be feeding this to ANY of my snakes.

Petland freezes their own rats by placing them in the freezer alive.
I have gone round and round with the local stores over this until I was blue in the face but they just don't care.
It's cruel and they shouldn't be doing it but they just don't care.

That is absolutely terrible, not to mention cruelty. Have they been reported for animal abuse for this? Certainly they can be shut down.

Wow that's really messed up. I definitely won't be buying frozen food from there anymore. They also sell frozen food from other companies too. The ones I got last time weren't albino rats and the bag was marked(i forgot what the company's name was), but I guess this time they gave me one of theirs.

Wow there is really no sense in that...Some people just have 0 care about their company representation.
