    Just a quick question
Hey all... Over the past few years I have noticed a weird pattern in my ball pythons. They will take rats every feeding for about 4 to 5 months and then all of a sudden they stop. They wont eat anything but mice and even then sometimes they wont eat at all. I dont change temps or lighting for these certian snakes so I dont think it is related to the breeding cycle. My 10 year old male went 5 months one year were he would not eat. The really strange thing is they seem to "change their minds" at different times from each other. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas why.

P.S a couple of them got this way after a feeding were the rat (yes live food, some of mine will not eat frozen) stepped on their heads. So its like they are scared to feed. I know that prob is not the case.

    Thanks :salute:

Even though you don't very your temps, it could be seasonal. The berometric pressure changes thoughout the year, and my personal feeling is that BPs are sinsitive to pressure changes.

About what times of the year do they stop? During the winter season they can stop eatting. It is normal.

If you could go thru your feed logs, you may find a pattern, let us know :)

    Hi,

What size are the rats you are feding them? An approximate gram weight will do. :)
