    cooler incubator anybody use one?
    Im propley going to make one out of a 150 qt. cooler with 11 inch flexwatt on a helix.expecting 2 to 4 clutches if im lucky so a 150 qt. should hold them all. ?? is should there be a small fan in it? or should I be good because of the small size on the inside of the cooler.

    i use to use cooler incubators in the past, i have a good explaination on how to build one if on the link in my signature. you wont need a fan......good luck

    im using one this year again!

    Search incubators on the forum here and you will find threads with all sorts of different ways to make em :)

    This is the second season using a cooler incubator. I made it like this one, but didn't cut the window in the top...

    I used only 1 ft of flexwatt and it just heats up to 89-90degrees full bore so there is little change that it will over heat if my thermostat fails. I have it set to 88.5. I used the same type fan and I really think it helps even out the heat. Also helps to bring it back up to temp after I have been checking out the eggs.

    I had 100% hatch rate last year. And the first clutch from this year is cooking.....
