Codom het x het

I apologize if this is on the forums somewhere already and if it is please post a link and I will just read that one. I would like to know the probable outcome from breeding a codom het to het and codom het x homozygous., for example spider het hypo x het hypo along with spider het hypo x hypo.

If you bred to het you could still get honey bees but a het to het pairing all offspring will be 66% het(or if your lucky hypo).If you paired Spider het hypo x Hypo all offspring would potentially be a mix of Hypo and 100%het hypo. Hopefully that didnt sound too confusing.

Thank you! No that wasnt confusing at all and that was the exact answer I was looking for. Thats what I thought but needed someone so i was positive.

Spider het hypo x het hypo=

12.5% honeybee
37.5% spider 66% phet hypo
12.5% hypo 66% phet hypo
37.5% 66%phet hypo


Spider het hypo x hypo =

25% honeybee
25% spider het hypo
25% hypo
25% het hypo

Wow thanks for the breakdown that helps cause I just got a 1.1 spider het hypo pair and will get a hypo. Should I trade the female for a hypo since it will eliminate the poss hets? oh and the 12.5% should be hypo not hypo phet hypo.

It depends on your future breeding plans. There are lots of possibilities. But I do think trading the female for a visual hypo is a good idea. Later you could breed any co-dom to the hypo female, hold back one of the co-dom het hypo sons to breed back to mom, and produce co-dom hypos the next season.

Ah thats very true. Thank you very much for your help im goin to try and find someone who will trade and if not Ill buy a female ghost and just keep her it wont hurt.lol
